Screwed up Container

I got awarded a container from a mission and I opened it and it gave me a black shot color for my railgun, so then I went in the garage to equip it because it is the first color I got for it and when I went to the railgun in the garage there was no color for my railgun. I restarted the game and still nothing, waited even longer and still nothing, can you help me?
