Improving 3D models and shading

Hi! Just a question. Wouldn't it be better for the game and game engine to have baked shadows from the houses on maps onto the texture of the ground?

Also, what kind of rendering game engine are you using?

Best regards

Hello!

Baked shadows would look better in theory, but the performance of the game would be disrupted, and for users that play on devices that aren't super powerful, this would be a huge issue. This is why the graphics settings are setup like they currently are.

In response to your second question, I believe Tanki still uses their own engine called Alternativa3D, but they were planning on switching to Unity upon the removal of Flash (this has been a long-term plan for several years).

Hope this helps!
