cheating

Tosser 7 months ago updated by Jay (Administrator) 7 months ago 5

I am continually seeing games in which I am placed among "random" players, going against a well-organized team on the opposing side.  I have no problem with that.  But many of these teams, I suspect, are planting zombie players to go up against to ensure their victory.  This has happened numerous times.  Too many to count. I have chatted with other players and they can confirm this happens. I have complained in the past but obviously it is very difficult for me to prove.

I know that developers could follow up on this by checking account ISP addresses or corresponding phone numbers/emails to see if players are loading the opposing side with zombies.  I wish they would.

Attached is a screenshot of a game I just finished.  Note how my team has four (!) players who did not record a single kill.  I can attest that they sat there and did nothing.

Please tanki- if you do take cheating seriously you must look into this.  It is ruining the game.

Hello!

Unfortunately, this type of cheating is very hard to track, and very difficult to accuse and persecute a player using such cheats. You can try recording videos of the same player matched up against these "zombie" players, and submit these videos to this section of the Forum.

I would also advise you to check out this Help Site article, which explains the process of reporting players in battles:

How to report a violator?

Hope this helps!

BAD, I'M UNSATISFIED

I don't know how to record videos, nor do I have the inclination to learn.  It is the responsibility of Tanki to assure the games are played fairly- NOT the players.  You say it is difficult- yes, for ME!  It is less difficult for Tanki programmers to do the research on who is cheating.  In fact, that is the ONLY way it is possible.  Do not offer me a band-aid to the gaping wound in your game play.  If you continue to turn a blind eye to this type of cheating, your game will fail.  Because nobody is interested in an unfair battle.

It isn't difficult for those who have the means.  CHECK the logged battles.  SEE when players from opposite teams use the same ISP, and one side checks out.  WARN and then PUNISH those players who do so.  EASY!!!!  FFS- the integrity of your game is at stake here.

You can PM Yele on the forum in regards to this.

Let me know if you need any more assistance.

Best regards,

Jay

Wow.  You are new at this.  Sorry, Mr. Nibbles, I guess this is way beyond your level.  It's a very serious matter and it needs to be addressed.  I don't think the upper echelons see it because when (if) they participate in battles it's in the elite ranks.... down here at lower levels it is rampant.  And it sucks.  Rest assured, if you want more people to play this game, you need to fix this cheat, because it's no freaking fun.

New problem, not necessarily involving cheating...

Can you look at the teams and tell me if this is a fair battle?  Shouldn't it be?  Look at the damn ranks!
