It is strange because I can only buy the new turret in the m1 form for roughly 24,000 crystals, not m0 for 700 and id like to buy it but don't have the currency.
Is there a reason for this or is it a bug and I can't buy it?

It is because you have unlocked the m1 modification already. You can only buy the latest modification available at your rank.
