How do I invite my friend to the game I'm playing? (with detailed answers please!).

You go to your friends list, click on a friend's name, and then proceed to click, "Invite to battle".

uuhhh... is that not an option anymore?

You can invite your friends to MatchMaking Battles using the Group option. More info can be found here: MatchMaking Battles

As for PRO Battles it is the same old way to invite friends to battles.
