if you fully micro upgrade a turrent do you get m1 for free

If you fully MU any turret or hull, you will receive the next modification for zero crystals. The parameters will remain the same, but the appearance will match that of the new modification. So if you fully MU an M0 turret, you will get the M1 turret for free, and the only thing that will change is the way it looks.
